- to enter the contest, you have to leave an interesting and original comment to one of the posts from Shakespeare School blog

When you fulfil these requirements, you are officialy registered as participant in this competition and you can start writing your essay!
Essay topic:
More and more people young and old are using social networking sites like hi5 and Facebook to connect with each other.
What role do you think online social networking will have in the future and how will it connect people from different parts of the world, like Romania and UK or USA?
Write a 350 word essay and discuss the role and future of social networking sites. Amaze us and you can win an amazing summer!

1st Prize
– a 2 week summer school (25 July-8 August 2010) in England at OXFORD, offered by Mirunette International Education travel agency *
-a 27 hour English summer course at Shakespeare School “Preparing students for international exams” : CAE (Certificate in Advanced English)
– a school bag (with notebook, coloring pencils, eraser and pen) and a Penguin English Dictionary, offered by DIVERTA
*The English summer school at Oxford includes:
English classes – 20 lessons per week, in multinational groups of maximum 15 students
3 meals/day and 14 nights accommodation in the residence of Oxford Brookes University, Morell Hall campus, in single rooms, common bathrooms and kitchen

– a 2 week English summer school (8-22 August 2010) in England at Cambridge, offered by Studio Cambridge, the oldest language school in Cambridge accredited by the British Council and English UK *
– a 27 hour English summer course at Shakespeare School “Preparing students for international exams” : IELTS (International English Language Testing System)
*The English summer school at Cambridge includes:
English classes – 20 lessons per week, in multinational groups of maximum 15 students, held at Ridley Hall College, Cambridge University
3 meals/day and 14 nights accommodation in the campus of Cambridge University, double or single rooms, common bathrooms
Daily sports and social programme
2 full day excursions (London, Bath)

Important notes:
- participation is FREE OF CHARGE
- all submitted essays will receive a Certificate of Participation to our essay competition
- winning essays and other essays of merit will receive an Essay Award Certificate
- all winning essays will be posted on Shakespeare School blog
- English teachers that will have minimum 10 students enrolled to 2010 Shakespeare School Essay Competition will receive a “Certificate of Merit” from Shakespeare School
Guidelines:
- all essays must be written in English
- all essays must be original and unpublished
- word count: 300-350 words
Judging criteria & Evaluation stages
- Essays will be judged on clarity, originality, creativity
- 1st stage: essays will be evaluated by a panel of judges comprising Shakespeare School staff, that will announce the best 15 essays until May 25, 2010
- 2nd stage: the 15 finalists will be invited for a short interview, which will take place on Saturday, 29th of May, at Shakespeare School in Bucharest
- the final results will be announced on June 10, at the award ceremony which will be held at Shakespeare School, 11 Dimirie Racovita Street, sector 2, Bucharest
